The Restaurant opened in 2006 by husband and wife team Tom & Michaela Kitchin on Edinburgh’s stylish waterfront.
Dining at The Kitchin is relaxed but welcoming with the food in focus. The passion of Tom and Michaela and their entire team shine through in what they deliver; quality and consistency.

The sommelier Ladis has put together a few suggested seasonal wines to match some of the dishes on the A’la Carte menu; this is what he suggests in this season:
Philipponnat ’Clos des Groisses’ 2000
One of Champagne’s most famous vineyards, just 5 hectares of south facing terroir. The 2000 vintage is around two thirds Pinot Noir, finished off with Chardonnay. It has a wonderfully yeasty nose of brioche and flaky pastry. The palate is dry with a tight mineral structure, with hints of spicy oak and a nuttiness on the finish.
Reisling Trapet 2007
A beautiful dry reisling from Jean Trapet in Riquewihr in the Alsace. The wonderful balance between the citrus, the flinty mineral notes and the fresh acidity makes this a perfect match for the razor clams on the menu.
Raats Cabernet Franc, 2006
Winemaker Brawer Raats takes care to only grow his Cabernet Franc in the granite soil which is best suited to express the variety. Classic chocolate, smoke and spicy flavours makes this wine stand up perfectly to the game dishes currently on the menu.
Maculan Torcolato 2006
This is one of Italy’s finest sweet wines with lots of floral character and dried apricots on the nose. There are flavours of candied orange peel and a slight herbal note on the palate. It is the perfect accompaniment to the sea buckthorn and chocolate dessert on the menu.
